Susan asks…

Im looking for a great laptop for my niece who is studying web and graphic design any ideas?

Summer answers:

For graphics design you should get a laptop with fast cpu, a lot of ram and the most important – an excellent graphics card.

My suggestion: Asus G50Vt-X1 (a Windows laptop)

on the other hand for that purpose you can also get a MacBook Pro but those are considerably more expensive.

Linda asks…

I have an idea, but no web based design skills…?

I have this great idea for a networking/game/web based site. But, I don’t know a thing about web design, or program development. Who do I talk to for help flushing out my idea, and maybe getting a first version draft started?

Summer answers:

First it takes money to pay all the people it takes to put it together. Then you have to pay an attorney to copyright it. Which is not really that much depending on how much you have to spend.

Then, it takes more pages than they allow here to show you how to do the business plan, advertising, marketing, financing, animation, photography, script writing……..

Late night wish or GOAL?

Hey

I use some great sites that offer pretty good lifestyle content! Istock is a usual contender but you should also try out the likes of Veer, Fotolia and moodboard.

Ruth asks…

Help on Web design need your opinion?

I want to take Web design classes but I work days and around my town that is the only time they have the classes, if I take a web design course over the internet is it as good or better. Do you have any other ideas or online schools that have a great web design, thank you

Summer answers:

The main advantage to doing web design classes in person is that the computers will have the necessary software and server space available.

If you’re taking a class online, you’ll need the software they’re teaching with (Dreamweaver, etc.) and the graphics software (Photoshop, etc.), as well as server space available. (Generally you can download training or demo versions.)
