Inverted Search Engine Optimization

Lets Call This Inverted Search Engine Optimization.

With the Internet and social media, bad press can turn into a public relations nightmare. How would you manage the damage?

A while back, A client of mine had a run-in with a potential client of his. He didn’t like my clents prices and, although they had no contract, he somehow felt he’d been bangdoolzled. He found a pretty well-known complaint site and posted a terrible complaint against my client for “how poorly he treated his clients”. For a month, anytime someone searched for his brand, one of the first things they saw was the complaint. Now, granted, some of his actual clients came to bat for him, but the damage was already done.

In this case, the reputation management was easy – sort of. I contacted the complaint site, showed them the correspondence and they took the complaint down. However, it took another month for the complaint to disappear from the search results; it was listed, but when you clicked on the link it redirected to the home page of the complaint site.

For those two months, there’s no telling how many potential clients he lost from that one untrue complaint.

Controlling Negative Publicity

Inverted Optimization and Reputation Management forces undesirable results down from the first page of the search returns, killing exposure to the public and cuts the impact to your business significantly. It may take anything from social media profile and optimization tactics to press releases, to really high PR link building that will outrank the complaints.

Negative publicity can be dealt with!

It’s not very often an organization goes through its entire life without bad press. It happens to everyone, legitimate or not. Disgruntled employees and competitors could quickly destroy your reputation, simply because these complaints are so easy to make anonymously..

they are sometimes hard to control, and even harder to remove if they are left to fester for a long period of time.

well.. the first thing I would do is find a contact page for the forum and ask them to take it down. if that doesn’t work then yes, you should hire my services and I’ll take care of it for you 🙂 either way . we’ll get it done!
