Having been asked so many times.. “We have Blackberry’s for our company, if we swap to your service can we still use our email?” and/or “We use Exchange email for our Business, will your hosting provide this service?”
Normally,. and until Feb the answer is still no.
If you ask most hosting companies they will say “You can use our Windows based server for that no problem! .. Its only $250 per month! 🙂
And if your with the handful of companies that offer the speed of Linux based website hosting,. and offer these services as well your still dealing with at least $50+ per month.
If you use these services you know all too well about the downtime of Microsoft Exchange. It’s as if there are a team of people just TRYing to *** *** UP all the time.. if this was an essential service the contractor would be fired and replaced with the very best of the bids. Period. Email is our livelihood,. our businesses.. our lives.. and dealing with crappy email services sometimes just WILL NOT DO.
Well.. read on.
A few months ago at the search conference the questions were addresses as to the solutions hosting providers may offer their clients to both use cross platform applications that are fast and cause low loads on the server,. but what can be done to mitigate the transition from Microsoft Exchange and other email hosting platforms to a Free or Paid Service that could be hosted inside of Gmail and still function the same way.
If your a customer of Google Apps Business account you may already know they have been diligently working away at performing a “Migration” from email to their hosting services. AND.. these services support exchange. *sigh. gmail and exchange is like a nuclear powered toyota. a perpetual motion machine to be envied by all.. i dont think i need to go on about this.. if you use exchange you know.
I know.. and you?
Well.. im in the email, hosting and website business., and when they do stuff .. i do stuff.. its very merry 🙂
What were doing here is creating a .. “sync” if you will.. one that will automatically post your website dns and email “exchange” to your Google Apps account.. if you have the account to support it it will work, if you have a free account the appropriate API handshake will be made and what can be exchanged will be exchanged.
It may not be a big deal to some.. probably most.. but for those that want to know more contact us 🙂
